What does the quantity calculator do?
It multiplies the weight of a packaging component in grams by the number of units, then converts the result to kilograms. For example, 150 g × 4,000 units = 600 kg. Multiple components are grouped by material.
Which packaging should I enter?
Enter the components you want to measure, such as boxes, cushioning and tape. Use their actual measured weights. The tool does not determine which packaging you are required to report.
What is LUCID?
LUCID is the packaging register operated by the German Central Agency Packaging Register (ZSVR). VerpackTool is independent of it. Registration and reporting take place in the official register, not on this website.
Can I submit the XML file directly to LUCID?
No. The export uses a custom preparation format. Compatibility with an official LUCID XSD has not been verified. Always check the data and the recipient’s requirements before use.
What happens to my data?
Calculations, questionnaire answers and XML generation run locally in your browser. Entries are neither sent to a server nor saved permanently. They are lost when you reload or close the page. The hosting provider processes technical connection data when you access the website.
Are the tools really free?
Yes. The available tools require neither an account nor payment. Any recycling scheme participation costs are separate; this tool does not calculate provider prices.
What has replaced VerpackG?
According to the ZSVR, PPWR and Germany’s Packaging Law Implementation Act (VerpackDG) have applied since 12 August 2026. Earlier rules may still be relevant to earlier reporting periods. Read the current ZSVR guidance.
